Sub: Fees for approval of plans / booklets and miscellaneous surveys/ inspections
       carried out by Government Surveyors regarding.

1.The existing fee structure prescribed by the DGS Circular No. 1 of 2004 of even file number dated 1st January, 2004 for approval of plans and miscellaneous surveys / inspections carried out by Mercantile Marine Departments(MMDs) / Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) Surveyors is more than 6 years old and was as such reviewed. Taking into account, the feedback obtained from concerned branches, the Director General of Shipping has decided to amend the existing fee structure. The revised fee is enclosed to this circular as an Annexure.
2.         The prescribed fee is to be necessarily paid with the application for surveys / inspections or submission of plans for approval by way of Crossed Demand Draft in favour of Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai or MMDs Mumbai / Kolkata / Chennai / Kandla / Kochi, as applicable.
3.         The prescribed fee does not include the expenses incurred by the surveyors on Traveling Allowance / Daily Allowance, wherever applicable and they should be recovered on the basis of actuals or full arrangements be made as per Government scale applicable to such officers by the parties needing service.
4.         This order supersedes the DGS Circular No.1 of 2004 of even file number dated 01.01.2004.
           
The revised fee structure comes into effect from 1st September, 2010.
