MERCHANT SHIPPING
G.S.R…………………………….. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 172, read with clause(i) of sub-section (2) of section 101 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Seamen (Supply of Articles for Personal Use ) Rules, 1966 namely :-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Seamen (Supply of Articles for Personal Use) Amendment Rules, 1978.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Schedule to the Seamen (Supply of Articles for Personal Use) Rules, 1966, in item (a) for the entries against sub-items (i) and (ii), the following shall be substituted, namely :-
“(i) one full plate Porcelain or stainless steel
or anodized aluminium.
(ii) one quarter plate
or bowl (Katori) of not less than
3”diameter
