N O T I F I C A T I O N

New Delhi, the  -- 20^th June, 2002

     G.S.R 440(E) - In exercise of the powers conferred by section 457 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958),the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Merchant Shipping (Continuous Discharge Certificate-cum-Seafarer's Identity Document) Rules,2001 namely:-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Merchant Shipping (Continuous Discharge Certificate-cum- Seafarer’s  Identity Document) Amendment Rules,2002.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Merchant Shipping (Continuous Discharge Certificate-cum-Seafarer's Identity Document) Rules,2001, -

(a)in rule 4, in sub-rule(10) after the words "between the 1st January, 1982 and " the words "one year from" shall be inserted;

(b) in rule 4, in sub-rule (10) clause (v) for the words "one yer" the words "two years" shall be substituted.
